Experienced Blast Hole Driller

Ace Aggregates LLC, located 5.5 Miles East of Nestorville, WV is seeking highly motivated personnel.

Basic Function:

Ace Aggregates is seeking an experienced Blast Hole Driller who demonstrate the ability to safely and efficiently operate production drilling and mining equipment. This position requires the driller operator to have prior experience working on a mine/quarry setting environment.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Position may involve performing other duties as required, which may not be mentioned below. Specific functions may change from time to time.

Essential function:

Learn, follow, and promote all Company safety regulations of Ace Aggregates. Follow rules and regulations as well as requirements set forth by MSHA, MHST, OSHA, DNR State and Federal agencies. Operates and understands mechanics of various types of drilling units equipped with multi-function joy sticks and GPS. Must have thorough knowledge of drill patterns and the structure in which they are developed. Demonstrate the ability to drive and maneuver equipment over various slope’s, grades and ground conditions to spot drilling rig in a safe position. Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving in response to hand or audio signals from crew members. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed. Must be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust controls of machine to exact positions as necessary. Must have the ability to communicate clearly, listen and understand information through spoken words and sentences to ensure full comprehension of job duties, safety regulations, and other situations that may require an immediate response. Comprehends all drill tooling, their functions and how to properly and safely apply to the drill rig function and operations. Understands the limitations of the drill rig and the performances it can safely provide Performs lubrication as required and small mechanical repairs to the drill, May require night, weekend, holiday, and/or overtime work based on the job site’s operation schedule. Performs other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor or upper management.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS

  • This position requires working in the internal and external environment.
  • This position requires a flexible work schedule; night and/or weekends will be required.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING

  • Three (3) years’ drilling experience in a surface mining environment is preferred.
  • High School diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Develop and maintain positive attitude.
  • Be courteous, prompt, and respectful to others.

Requirements:

  • Proven safety and attendance records is required.
  • Must pass drug test and background check. NO EXCEPTIONS!
  • Work safely at all times surrounded by unpredictable field conditions, continuously moving vehicles, equipment, and adverse weather conditions.
